TABLE TENNIS ROTHER
Table Tennis the Way You Like It
Bexhill Academy hosted the launch of the Rother Ping Pong Care Campaign aimed at bringing the sport to the older generation of Bexhill. The event was led by Andrew Battley from the Ping Pong Care Campaign who introduced the benefits to older people of playing table tennis. Providers of older peoples sevices attended the launch which included the showing of an edited version of the much acclaimed Ping Pong movie. A number of Bexhill High Leaders represented both the school and the younger generation and learnt about the intergenerational aspect of the project which they hope to be part of in the coming year. Also in attendance was Adrian Gaylon, Sports Development Officer from Rother District Council who are hoping to include the project as part of a special bid for Sports England Lottery Funding. As well as a screening of the much acclaimed movie those attending were able to try the special equipment through a number of exercises which could be used should they decide to deliver the project to their clients. Free packs of equipment are being sent out to all those who attended. The organisers expressed their thanks to Bexhill Academy for providing such an excellent venue as well as providing refreshment. A special thanks was also expressed to the young people from Bexhill Academy who gave up their own time to support the event.
